Two killed in tragic morning on Monash Freeway
Two people have been killed in two separate crashes that happened within 30 minutes of each other on the Monash Freeway.
A woman was hit by a truck after she had pulled over and got out of her car on the freeway near Darling Street just after 8am on Friday morning.
A motorcyclist died after hitting a pole near Heatherton Road just before 9am.
The rider, who is yet to be formally identified, was treated by first responders but sadly died at the scene.
Police are investigating.
“To be honest, it’s been a bloody awful morning on the roads,” Chris Miller from the Department of Transport said on 3AW.
All lanes have since been re-opened to traffic.
