A man has been arrested at Swinburne University’s Croydon campus after he allegedly pointed a gun at a staff member.

3AW received several tip-offs about the incident on Tuesday morning.

Victoria Police confirmed they’d arrested a man without incident.

It’s since been established the gun was not real.

It’s alleged a man pointed it at a security staff member on the Norton Road campus shortly before 10.30am.

Specialist police quickly descended on the area.
