Sportsday host Gerard Healy admits he was a little surprised to see St Kilda draft Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera at pick 11 ahead of local star Josh Sinn on Wednesday night.

Wanganeen-Milera will re-locate from South Australia, while Sinn grew up bayside.

He wonders whether the Saints will live to regret the decision.

“Both of them, I’m sure, are terrific young players,” Healy said on 3AW.

“But it doesn’t seem to me that there is enough between them to create all the issues associated with relocation as opposed to sending a bike to the end of South Road.”

He pointed out the fact Port Adelaide traded up to select Sinn as a sign of his ability.

“So, clearly, in the eyes of at least one team, he’s a serious unit,” he said.

“Why would you take a wingman from interstate, with all the issues associated with it, when you have a kid in your own heartland – Josh Sinn – who is captain of Sandringham Dragons, captain of Vic Metro, and still available.”

Healy said the draft was “littered” with examples of under-18 captains being overlooked slightly in the draft and going on to embarrass those who passed on them.
