Neil Mitchell: Scott Morrison is ‘wrong’ and Jacqui Lambie ‘nailed it’
In a bid to quell a damaging dispute within his party, Scott Morrison yesterday suggested businesses should set their own rules on whether customers and staff have to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The claim put the Prime Minister at odds with state health orders.
It came as the government was thrown on the defensive when Pauline Hanson moved to pass a bill to overturn health orders and ban discrimination based on COVID-19 vaccination status, which gained the support of five Liberals and Nationals who crossed the floor in the Senate, but it was rejected.
Neil Mitchell says Scott Morrison was “wrong” to suggest businesses should set their own vaccine rules.
“To me that undermines the whole point,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
“We either need these rules or we do not. You can’t leave them to individuals.”
Neil said the take from Independent Tasmanian Senator Jacqui Lambie, who stole the show with a fiery speech opposing the One Nation move, was “spot on”.
“Being held accountable for your own actions isn’t called discrimination, it’s called being, you wouldn’t believe it, a god damn bloody adult!,” Senator Lambie said in the speech.
“The way out of lockdowns and restrictions is vaccinations because there is nothing else on the table.
“We need to do everything we possibly can to keep ourselves safe, our kids safe, our grandchildren safe.”
Neil Mitchell says she “nailed it”.

Every Australian who’s been vaccinated is a hero. You have done your bit to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.
