The Director of Quit Victoria has expressed concern at research showing about one-in-seven teenagers is vaping electronic cigarettes.

“That’s extraordinary,” Sarah White said on 3AW Afternoons.

Not only should parents be concerned about the future impacts of inhaling what’s in them, but Ms White said it also meant they were more likely to take up tobacco cigarettes at some point in their life.

“When teens vape, they are three times more likely to go on and smoke cigarettes,” she said.

Ms White gave advice to parents wanting to ask their children about vaping and how to prevent it from becoming a problem.
