Why allegations of ‘despicable’ behaviour from politicians is unlikely to matter come election time
Investigations into allegations of branch-stacking and possible misuse of public funds are unlikely to have any serious impact on next year’s Victorian election, according to a long-time political strategist and marketing guru.
Toby Ralph says voters have simply come to expect “despicable” behaviour from politicians.
Neil Mitchell asked Mr Ralph what he thought voters would make of the situation.
“Probably not that much, is the sad truth of it,” he said.
Mr Ralph said there was “plenty” going against the Coalition heading into the election, also.
“It’s not as if we are spoiled for choice,” he said.
