Five fires within an hour at Broadmeadows, West Meadows and Dallas
There’s been a series of suspicious fires in Melbourne’s north overnight.
It comes after two suspected arson attacks destroyed homes and threatened lives across the state earlier this week.
Within one hour around 10pm, firefighters were called to five fires all within a few kilometres of each other in Broadmeadows, West Meadows and Dallas.
The MFB responded before any of the fires to get out of control.
Police haven’t made any arrests and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
It comes after a two unrelated but significant grass fires, which did get out of control this week.
One of the suspected arson attacks at Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula on Monday destroyed one home, damaged others, and forced a 70-year-old woman to seek shelter in the bay.
The other suspicious fire destroyed one home near Kyneton on Tuesday.
