Tom Elliott dismisses the Greens’ idea of rainbow licence plates
‘This has got to be a joke.’
Tom Elliott has panned the Greens’ idea of rainbow number plates in support of the LGBTI community.
‘Gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual people might be 5-7% of the population,’ Tom said on Thursday.
‘The whole idea of state number plates is to have one thing that epitomises, encompasses the majority of the state.
‘A rainbow number plate is not one of those things.’

Greens LGBTI spokesman Sam Hibbins said it would be a specialty plate for those who want it, not a universal one.
‘A lot of people have rainbow bumper stickers on their cars,’ Mr Hibbins said.
‘This would be the next step up.’
