As a horticultural therapist, Steven Wells has combined his long career in nursing with a passion for the healing power of gardening! 

His gardens at the Austin Hospital are designed to heal and rehabilitate. 

Steven incorporates gardening into the rehab program of his patients with acquired brain injuries. 

‘It’s a very humbling experience and gives a very interesting perspective on life’ he tells us.   

The gardens have proved helpful for family and staff as well as patients.

Steven explains ‘it’s just amazing to see the difference a garden can bring.’
