Worker at major health provider claims unvaccinated staff are getting extra paid leave
There are claims staff refusing to get vaccinated at a major health provider are being given time off with pay while their overworked fully vaccinated colleagues are left to shoulder the burden.
Peninsula Health employee, Tara, says up to 15 per cent of staff at her workplace are not vaccinated.
She says they’re being given paid leave, on top of their regular leave entitlements, to “have a think about having a vaccine”.
Tara says the policy is putting extra pressure on staff who’ve already received a vaccine.
“Everyone else is working very, very hard and we’ve had people resign as a result of being overworked and overstressed, and then we’ve got this large group of people getting fully paid,” she told Neil Mitchell
“We’ve had lots of staff leave – resign – and we’ve got staff on stress leave.”
3AW has contacted Peninsula Health, which has not commented on the situation.
