Officer resident tells of home invasion
Iain told Tom Elliott he came home from work yesterday to find his door smashed, his home ransacked and his car covered in graffiti.
He reported the break-in to police, who didn’t attend until the next morning – 16 hours later – forcing Iain to spend a sleepless night in the home, which he was unable to lock up.
‘They kicked the back door in and have done a fair bit of internal damage,’ he said.
‘They never stole anything but I think they were looking through the cupboard for a spare pair of keys and I normally take my spare pair of keys with me so they lucked out.’
Iain said the offenders wrote ‘Westside Apex’ on his car bonnet and at the house, which police say could be a copycat gang.
