Data has revealed the suburbs which are holding back Victoria’s race to reopen.

Figures posted to the Health Department website show several suburbs within an hour of Melbourne are struggling to reach key vaccine targets.

In Little River, south-west of the CBD, less than 35 per cent of people aged 16 and older have received their first dose and less than 25 per cent are fully-vaccinated.

Rates are similar in the area covered by postcode 3335 — Plumpton, Bonnie Brook, Deanside, Fraser Rise, Truganina — where less than 35 per cent of eligible people have had one dose of vaccine and less than 20 per cent are fully-vaccinated.

In 3751, which includes Woodstock, Donnybrook and Yan Yean, fewer than 25 per cent of eligible people are fully vaccinated.

In postcode 3800 in Clayton, which covers Monash University, with an eligible population of 2815, less than 10 per cent of people have received their first dose.

It’s a similar story in postcode 3086 — La Trobe University — which has an eligible population of 1065, and in postcode 3045 — Melbourne Airport — with an eligible population of just 109.

Restrictions in Melbourne will be lifted when the double-dose rate hits 70 per cent.

Currently, the state-wide double-dose rate is just over 61 per cent.
