Lord Mayor Sally Capp says staff and community safety was the motivation behind a decision to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory to enter a City of Melbourne facility.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to enter all council sites, such as libraries, recreation centres and administration offices including Town Hall.

“We’ve put this policy in place, really, to focus on safety for our employees, right at the core,” she said.

She also explained how Melburnians could get their hands on a $1000 shopping voucher for the Queen Victoria Market, Emporium or Melbourne Central.
