A doctor who oversees a Mornington Peninsula COVID-19 testing site says positive cases in the region are growing but the community isn’t being told about potential exposure.

Eight people have tested positive at the Rosebud Respiratory Clinic testing site in the past week.

And the site isn’t even the biggest testing facility in the area.

“Rosebud and Frankston hospitals probably do more testing than us,” Dr Sally Shaw told Neil Mitchell.

Dr Shaw says she’s seen positive cases this week in residents from Tootgarook, Safety Beach, Rye and Dromana.

But that’s not all.

“Then we’ve got the out-of-towners as well,” she said.

Despite the surging cases, there is only one exposure site on the Mornington Peninsula listed on the Health Department’s website — The Bays Aged Care in Hastings.

Dr Shaw says there are many more exposure sites, but they’re going unreported by the Health Department.

“We rang the management of Aldi and Ritchies and the Woolworths in Mornington,” she said.

“All of these places have been exposure sites.

“The contact tracers are just so far behind.”
