One nurse left to care for rehabilitation centre patients around the clock for a week
A single nurse has been caring for seven patients at a rehabilitation centre in Glen Waverley around the clock for a week without any assistance.
All of the staff at DayHab Rehabilitation Centre, except for the nurse, are in 14-day isolation.
The seven patients at the clinic are also isolating and must do so for another week.
Dayhab Rehabilitation Centre CEO Mick Hall says there’s no option but to have the one available nurse work 24 hours a day.
“I can’t get any staff to come in,” he told 3AW Drive.
“Agencies are being run off their feet as well.
“It’s been a tricky situation.”
Mr Hall said all seven patients at the centre are doing well.
