Health Minister responds to those who wish to ‘seek conflict’ over vaccine allocations
The federal health minister says it’s up to Daniel Andrews whether he wants to “seek conflict” over COVID-19 vaccine allocations, but rejects any suggestion the Victorian government was unaware about the latest allocation being sent to Victoria.
On Sunday, the federal government announced more than 400,000 Moderna and Pfizer doses would be sent to Victoria.
Daniel Andrews reacted with surprise when told about the news by a reporter.
Neil Mitchell asked Greg Hunt why he hadn’t informed the Victorian Government prior to the announcement.
“We have,” he said in response.
Neil Mitchell: “Are you saying the Premier was deliberately trying to divert attention from your announcement?”
Greg Hunt: “Here is what I am saying – it’s very much one-way traffic.
“We are always working with all of the states and from time to time, as you know, some of them will seek a conflict.
“Interrogate the claim … rather than simply re-broadcast it.
“There is no question we have been working with them.”
