Horror weekend: Six killed in 32 hours on Victorian roads
Six people were killed on Victorian roads in a 32-hour period over the weekend.
There were fatalities recorded in Cranbourne, Raywood, Rosedale, Eldorado, Yellingbo and Spotswood.
A man was struck down in Cranbourne at about 5.45am on Saturday morning. The exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown.
Four hours later, a car rolled on Sandhurst Street in Raywood, killing the driver — a man in his 20s. A passenger sustained minor injuries.
On Saturday afternoon, an off-road buggy carrying seven children and a man in his 40s rolled in a paddock at Rosedale.
A six-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries and sadly died.
A four-year-old girl was also airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
At Eldorado, five people got out of a Volkswagen utility vehicle on Lonies Gap Road at about 10.45pm on Saturday night.
One of the men got back into the vehicle and started to drive it. The utility rolled, crushing one of the men.
The man died at the scene.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 38-year-old Warburton man was found dead on the side of the road at Yellingbo. A motorbike was located near the man and it’s believed he was riding the motorcycle and crashed earlier in the evening.
On Sunday afternoon, two cars and a cyclist collided in Spotswood. The 52-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital in a critical condition and later died.
