Business leaders are calling for “common sense” COVID-19 guidelines to be introduced immediately in Victoria.

They say every day is crucial for business survival.

Justin O’Donnell, president of the Chapel Street Precinct Association, told Neil Mitchell there was no reason businesses shouldn’t be able to operate if all staff and customers or clients were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Isn’t it common sense?” he asked Neil Mitchell.

“Businesses need to have some hope.”

Meanwhile, the Australian Hotels Association is calling for immediate action in regional Victoria.

David Canny described the latest limits as “cruel” and “unviable” for most businesses.

He said the government had put many venues in an awkward position.

Mr Canny said the limit should be immediately changed to one person per four-square-metres.
