Expert says some schools stop students from doing VCE
There are two theories on why some schools could be stopping students from sitting exams.
The students aren’t academically inclined, or schools are barring underperforming students from the VCE to boost schools’ results.
Tom Elliott spoke to Dr Kevin Quin, psychologist and former teacher at Notre Dame School in Shepparton, about both theories.
Dr Quin told Tom there is a culture in some schools to deliberately discourage students from sitting exams, both in private and public schools.
