Dromana Drive-In makes another push to screen the AFL grand final
The manager of the Dromana Drive-In is pushing for permission to show the AFL grand final on the big screen.
The drive in received permission from the AFL and broadcasters to screen the footy final last year, but the state government blocked the plan at the last minute.
But Dromana Drive-In manager Paul Whittaker says that hasn’t put him off trying again.
“This year it’s the same deal,” he told Neil Mitchell.
Mr Whittaker says the event could be made safe with QR codes and online ticketing.
But the plan would require the curfew to be ditched in the next fortnight, and the expansion of the five kilometre limit.
“I can work with the government. Whatever they need we can do,” Mr Whittaker said.
