Why 7000 steps per day is the new 10,000
A study out of the United States has found walking 7000 steps a day is enough to significantly slash health risks from all causes, compared with those who don’t.
The figure has been branded much more achievable than the 10,000 often mooted.
“People just saw it (10,000) as a number,” Dr Ross Walker told Neil Mitchell.
He said it was healthy to count your steps each day.
“I think it’s a good thing, as long as you’re not neurotic about it,” Dr Walker said.
