Australia Post has announced a three-day pause on parcel collections in Victoria, NSW and the ACT due to major backlog issues.

It means you should brace for delays if you’re waiting for a delivery.

Acting CEO of Australia Post, Rodney Boys, said it was a difficult decision, but one that had to be made.

He said there were safety concerns and staff needed breathing space.

“We are processing over a million parcels a day,” Mr Boys said.

He also had advice to people ahead of Christmas – shop early.
