New Carlton president addresses ‘disgraceful’ leaking issues
New Carlton president Luke Sayer says it’s “disgraceful” if intricate details of the club’s review have been leaked to the media.
The Herald Sun has run a report that claims a confidential survey found just 30 per cent of Carlton’s players and staff supported Teague as coach.
“I don’t know where the 30 per cent number comes from and it’s news to me,” Luke Sayers told 3AW Football.
“David is a great man, with great values, with high integrity and is a great Carlton person.”
Sayers said there was “no doubt” leaking had been an issue at Carlton of late and he was determined to stamp it out.
In a wide-ranging interview, Sayers detailed his recent conversation with coaching candidate Ross Lyon, as well as whether the Blues would be speaking with Nathan Buckley about a role.
He also said it was “not acceptable” that David Teague didn’t feel supported in his final weeks as coach.
