Experts are now saying we should be having 10 servings of vegetables a day to ward off cancer and stroke.

Simone Austin, accredited dietitian with the Dietitians Association of Australia, says it is all about ‘variety’ for getting our vitamins and minerals.

‘We’ve got to have variety and eat like a rainbow,’ Simone told Ross and John.

She says in Australia, we still recommend five servings of vegetables and two of fruit as a minimum.

‘A serve is around half a cup of cooked vegetables which is about 80 grams, or a medium sized piece of fruit.’

The only thing 3AW Breakfast wants to know is are potatoes ok.
