People left paralysed could walk again as Melbourne researchers develop a revolutionary ‘bionic spine’.

The device is a bionic implant placed in a brain blood vessel.

Lead researcher Tom Oxley told Ross and John it doesn’t reactivate limbs, rather helps move them using a thought-powered ‘exoskeleton’.

‘The patient thinks about moving parts of their body, and that brain activity stimulates the device.’
