February’s only just begun, but Gerard Healy says the AFL has got handball happy already.

The Sports Today host says Port Adelaide, St Kilda, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs should be able to recruit top-up players to cover their Essendon recruits who’ve been banned.

The AFL handballed the issue on to legal advisor Andrew Dillon, who has since asked the AFL’s remaining 13 clubs what they think.

‘It’s not their job ? it’s yours,’ Gerard Healy said on 3AW.

‘Make a decision.

‘How is it logical that the Bombers – who created the problem – are getting preferential treatment over the others?

‘How is it that the Bombers could have replaced Carlisle, Melksham et al. if they remained on Essendon’s list, but not if they moved club?’
