Posties have had to adapt their role in the email age.

In recent years, they have been delivering more and more parcels, as opposed to traditional mail. 

But Australia Post CEO Ahmed Fahour says they could start providing more community services while they’re out and about.

Mr Fahour said Australia can be proud of the way our postal system stacks up when compared to other countries.

‘The mail system in this country is performing above all the targets that are set by the government, which are independently audited,’ he said.
