Rita Panahi slams call for ‘gender equal’ walking signs as ‘utterly absurd’
Herald Sun columnist Rita Panahi, has slammed the call for ‘gender equal’ walking signs, calling the idea ‘utterly absurd’.
‘I just find the whole debate is patronising and offensive to the majority of women who are smart, empowered and accomplished’, Rita said on 3AW Drive.

‘This is what you do when you are actually no longer marginalised, you start looking for things where you are cast as the victim.’
Rita said the overwhelming majority of women in the community feel that they are treated as equals.
‘We are not downtrodden in Melbourne, we should be proud of that.’
