UFC has fired back at Neil Mitchell’s criticism of a report they issued trumpeting the benefits of the event to Victoria.

The report, released by UFC, said the event injected $102 million into the Victorian economy and created 900 jobs.

Neil had questioned figures as ‘unverified propaganda’.

But the Manager of UFC Australia Tom Wright said a lot of research had gone into the report.

‘It was done by Applied Analysis, an independent third party firm,’ Mr Wright told Tom Elliott.

‘They speak to the tourism boards, the hotel association, they spoke to Etihad Stadium.’

Mr Wright confirmed UFC is planning to return to Australia in November.
