British researchers say they’ve confirmed there’s no such thing as the ten, three or even one second rule.

Around 37 per cent of people pick up food to eat after its been dropped on the ground.

But hygiene specialist, Dr Lisa Ackerly, told 3AW Breakfast from a pub in London that food picked up germs as soon as it hit the floor.

‘If it goes in the floor, then it needs to go in the bin,’ she told Ross and John.
