RUMOUR FILE: Movie shoot set to close major Melbourne freeway
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: A major Melbourne freeway is set to close in the coming days for the shooting of a movie.
‘Lights Camera Action’ told Ross and John about the major freeway closure.
3AW Breakfast can confirm a film named Stem, staring Logan Marshall-Green, will be shot in Melbourne Monday to Wednesday next week causing a section of the Craigieburn Bypass to be closed for filming overnight.
A Vic Roads spokeswoman said the road will be closed in both directions March 6-9 nightly 8pm-5am for ‘filming purposes and in the interest of public safety.’
‘A detour will be in place via Sydney Road; Expect delays and allow extra time,’ the spokeswoman said.
Stem is an Australian sci-fi thriller directed by Leigh Whannell (SAW, Insidious).
The film was partly funded by the Victorian Government and in a statement released by Film Vic, they say more than 200 local jobs will be created.
It will use the world-class production facilities at Docklands Studios Melbourne, along with surrounding locations.
