WHERE VICTORIA’S MONEY WILL BE SPENT…

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (overall investment $10.4 billion)

  • $2.9 billion dollars for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel
  • $1.9 billion to grow metropolitan public transport system
  • $875million to order an extra 28 high capacity trains to prepare for metro tunnel
  • $588 million to extend South Morang Line to Mernda.
  • $1.3 billion in rail projects across regional Victoria
  • $518 million for the Ballarat line upgrade
  • $198 million for V/Line to better meet service standards

ROADS

  • $1.46 billion over four years to fully fund Western Distributor
  • $7 billion dollars to upgrade roads in suburbs and cities across the state
  • $437 million to upgrade Thompsons Road, Yan Yean Road, O’Hearns Road, Hoddle Street and Bolton Street

HEALTH

  • $2.9 billion dollars for health system
  • $335million over five years for elective surgery waiting list
  • $28.5 million package to support establishment of the Office of Medicinal Cannabis
  • $356 million for mental health infrastructure and programs
  • $135 million for the Victorian Heart Hospital at Monash University in Clayton
  • $143 million to improve ambulance services, includes $116 million to improve availability
  • $200 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund

FAMILY VIOLENCE

  • $572 million over three years
  • $152 million for a housing blitz
  • $122 million to keep children safe from harm
  • $104 million for family violence services
  • $32.5million to develop a new system for safeguarding and sharing information between services

LAW, ORDER and EMERGENCY SERVICES

  • $596 million for Victoria Police
  • $540 million to increase public safety and police response ? including 406 additional sworn police officers and 52 additional specialist staff
  • $36.8 million to replace and refurbish a number of police stations
  • $63 million dollars to enhance counter-terrorism capabilities including 40 sworn police officers and 48 additional specialist staff to respond to increased terror threat.
  • $228 million dollars to support emergency services
  • $80.7 million to audit and repair six existing training facilities and remediate the former Fiskville Training College.
  • $57.6 million for the next stage of the Ice Action Plan
  • $32 million to expand the Drug Court of Victoria in the Melbourne CBD
  • $414 million to strengthen the management of dangerous criminals
  • $235 million for community corrections to improve supervision of offenders
  • $84 million to strengthen the management of high risk offenders

EDUCATION

  • $924 million in new and upgraded schools
  • $385 million for upgrades to schools in poor condition
  • $287 million to construct new schools and buy land
  • $133 million for maternal and child health services
  • $20 million for back to work Reconnect Program for young people and early school leavers

JOBS

  • Payroll tax burden to be reduced on businesses. $550 thousand payroll tax threshold to be increased to $650 thousand by 2019-20
  • $237 million to attract investment in Victoria
  • $116 million for Investment Attraction and Assistance Program
  • $297 million in sectors where Victoria has a competitive advantage

WATER

  • $468 million to protect Victoria’s water supply
  • $79.2m to enhance water and irrigation infrastructure within Macalister, Bacchus Marsh and Werribee irrigation districts
  • $59.6m to modernize irrigation systems

ENVIRONMENT

  • $74 million for the Forest Fire Management’s capability
  • $20 million to refurnish parks

ARTS

  • $50 million to support the work of the Arts Centre , State Library of Victoria and the Melbourne Recital Centre.

COMMUNITY

  • $21.5 million to support the LGBTI community
  • $15 million for a Pride Centre
  • $23.4 million to work with Aboriginal Victorians
  • $132 million for disability related initiatives
  • $18 million dollars for a range of programs to support the settlement and humanitarian arrivals across Victoria
