A patient has attacked three security officers at the Footscray Hospital, with one left concussed after being coward’s punched.

Two security officers were escorting the patient from the emergency room overnight, when he lashed out. 

3AW has been told one of the officers was king-hit, while another was attacked from behind. 

A third guard went to their aid after police were called to the scene. 

Western Health has confirmed the incident, saying the staff members involved suffered minor injuries. 

A spokesperson says the officers are considering laying charges.
