Tara Brown, her 60 Minutes crew and Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner have been told by a judge in Lebanon there is no way the charges they are facing will be dropped.

They remain in detention in Beirut following an alleged botched child abduction and are facing charges that carry sentences of up to 10 years behind bars.

But Herald Sun reporter Charles Miranda in Lebanon has told 3AW Breakfast Ms Faulkner had been negotiating with her ex-husband over custody of the children in the hope she could be set free.

He spoke with Tara Brown from her cell in Beirut.

‘She’s doing fine, under the circumstances,’ he said.
