Maroondah council ‘backflips’ on their suposeded ban on all outdoor fires
Maroondah council have taken a step back to review their new local law, banning all outdoor fires on residential properties.
The council announced there would be fines of up to $2000 for lighting any sort of recreational fire for heating.
The only exception is if you are using it to cook food for human consumption.
Community outrage has obviously ensued, and the council is now reconsidering their changes.
