3AW Mornings hears details of terrifying home invasion at Port Melbourne

Frightening details have emerged about a Port Melbourne home invasion – a man attacked with an axe, his wife left terrified.

The break-in happened at about 4am on Wednesday.

The husband was assaulted, with his son and wife also chased through the house before the intruders grabbed the keys to the family’s Mercedes and fled.

Family friend Jim Neskakis has told 3AW Mornings the family is now living in fear.

The offenders are still on the loose.

‘They’re extremely shaken,’ Jim said.

‘Actually, they’re probably even fearing for the life at the moment.

‘I just spoke with my friend ? he’s angry and shaken.

‘His wife is breaking down and crying and so on ? a complete mess.’
