Early risers have been treated to a spectacular light show, with the Aurora Australis visible lighting up the skies across Victoria before sunrise on Friday.

3AW Breakfast was inundated with photos of the light show, which saw the sky turn a shimmering red.

“Even with all the street lights you could see it clear as day,” caller Dave told 3AW.
