Priceless guitars signed by rock legends stolen from Maton guitars
Two guitars each worth about $10,000 have been stolen from Maton Guitars in Box Hill.
Police have been told two unknown offenders smashed a window and gained entry to the iconic Clarice Road store early yesterday.
Owner Neville Kitchen told Ross and John one of the guitars features 38 signatures from musicians including the late Billy Thorpe.
The other guitar was a red Maton Wild Cat.
“We’ve said $10,000, but really you can’t put a value on something like this,” Neville Kitchen, owner of Maton Guitars, told Ross and John.
“It’s so sad to see them go.”
