Truck fire in the Burnley Tunnel sees lengthy delays on the West Gate
A truck fire in the Burnley Tunnel is now under control.
The cabin of the truck burst into flames about 9.30 this morning.
Chris Miller from VicRoads says it’s still causing traffic problems.
“Two right hand lanes have reopened in the Burnley Tunnel,” Chris said.
“But the truck still needs to be removed and heavy haulage needs to get in there to remove it.
“Heavy delays remain for city-bound traffic on the West Gate.”
The speed in the area is down to 40km per hour.
