A Melbourne school is holding a Doggie Fun Fair next month but some breeds of dogs just aren’t welcome.

The fair at Leibler Yavneh College in Elsternwick, includes competitions, agility courses and market stalls but as many as 20 dog breeds are on a banned list.

Brooke told Neil Mitchell her Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Stirling, might feel left out. Neil’s dog Scallywag (pictured above) also wouldn’t get a look in.

“Some of those breeds the only risk to people have is being licked to death!” she said.

Neil Mitchell joked it was a case of “doggie discrimination” or more likely an insurance issue.

In a statement, the college said they were advised by insurers to restrict breeds at the show.

“We need to be responsible in running a school and to go against insurers would not be responsible,” principal Cherylyn Skewes said.
