EXCLUSIVE: There’s a flaw with Victoria’s new gun holsters
Neil Mitchell has been leaked details of a flaw with new gun holsters carried by Victoria Police.
The design fault has prompted an investigation and could see as many as 18,000 of the holsters withdrawn, which would cost millions.
3AW Mornings has chosen not to detail the flaw.
Police have confirmed the issue, but say only a small amount – estimated at a few hundred – of the new holsters have been rolled out.
This rollout was stopped when a hazard alert was issued last week.
“We don’t believe it has an impact on the safety of the public,” Supt. Tony Langdon told Neil Mitchell today (click PLAY above for full interview).
I am amazed it seems so hard to get this right. It is important and if it is urgent, I would suggest the government makes the money available to fix it. In this age, in this era, we can’t muck around.
