Matthew Lloyd has weighed in on Melbourne’s poor start to the 2025 season, losing their first three games, including big losses to North Melbourne and Gold Coast.

Lloyd thinks the premiership window has closed on the Demons, and thinks it “might not be the worst thing for Melbourne” to move on one of their big stars.

“One may need to go because there’s no point paying all of your salary cap, and you’re a bottom four or five side,” Lloyd said on 3AW Drive.

The Essendon great also addressed the Rhyan Mansell suspension, as well as looking ahead to the Carlton and Collingwood clash on Thursday night.
